What are good gifts to bring to friends in Canada from Texas? I want something made in Texas that I can bring into Canada. Any suggestions? I’ve already thought about local Honey, and a few Texas beers. Can I bring meat and produce into Canada from the States?

How about a basket with bottles of local BBQ sauce and chunky salsa & some chips.?

this link has a list of what you can and cannot bring into canada.

If you can bring food (maybe ship fedex to arrive the same time you do) take some BBQ brisket and/or Boudain

Bring back meat and produce? I wouldn’t.

As for ribs, Texas barbecue is known for BRISKET, not ribs.

Let’s see… there are plenty of hats, t-shirts, and clothing you could bring from Texas. In addition, bring back something from NASA, even if it is a mouse pad. Most every shopping mall in the area will have Texana gifts. I know, bring back an armadillo! (Stuffed, not live)

You really need to check with Canadian Customs to see what is and what is not allowed. Just as the US does not allow certain items in Canada has their list. Also are you flying or driving? I am not sure I would want to put a beer in my luggage that is going into a cargo hold. Remember you won’t be allowed to carry it on the plane.
The various hot sauces should travel well in your luggage, but I would put them in a zip lock bag just to be on the safe side.
